About us

An organic herb nursery rooted in Graz — grown from a wish to keep plant diversity close to city kitchens.

Listening to what the garden asks for

Kräutergarten Lenz began as a personal commitment to grow herbs and flowers the way nature prefers: without peat dependence, with seed-true stock where possible, and with room for rare sorts that supermarket trays never carry.

Today the nursery on Jakominiplatz welcomes cooks, balcony gardeners and collectors who want healthy young plants and honest advice.

01

Raise young plants carefully

Herbs and flowers start under our care — hardened for Styrian weather before they reach your trough or border.

02

Favour peat-free growing media

We choose substrates that support soil life and reduce peat use, aligning cultivation with long-term garden health.

03

Keep diversity on the shelf

Alongside everyday basil and parsley, we stock rarities and medicinal herbs that reward curious growers.

04

Advise without pressure

Describe your light and space — we recommend plants that fit, not the largest invoice.

A green pause on Jakominiplatz

Being central means tram-friendly visits and herbs for urban cooking. Display beds show how plants look when mature; the benches hold what you can take home today.

We welcome garden clubs and small groups by appointment for short talks on seed saving, herb culture and balcony growing.
